Currently Volume 2

Welcome to Currently. This is where I share what I’ve been up to in the last week! I’ve loved doing this in past years and I kind of want this to be something you look forward to every week.

I honestly have had quite a busy week with launching the blog and working on some other projects.

I have been really enjoying getting my daily dose of news from Morning Brew.

Starting in March, I’ll be starting a no-spend fast and I’m really excited to dive into The Spender’s Guide to Debt-Free Living by Anna Newell Jones (as of this writing, the Kindle version is $1.99!!)

I’ve been listening to a lot of black hosted podcasts this past week and I’m excited to share all about them in a special post dedicated to all the #blackgirlmagic I’m loving around the interwebs later on this week!

I can’t believe I already finished season 4 of Outlander. I tried to watch it slowly but ended up binging the last several episodes in one sitting. I think I have a binging problem.

I’m still watching How to Get Away With Murder and have almost caught up with where I stopped watching the show.

This past weekend, I did get to sneak a new show called Queen Sugar, the first 3 seasons are on Hulu. (Click here for a 2 weeks free). This show is actually really good, it’s different and has less “sexy-time” scenes than some of the other shows I’ve recommended.

One show that I’m actually watching in real time is Broad City. It’s quite silly as most Comedy Central shows are but it is quite hilarious and am quite saddened that this is the last season!

Apps -

Hoopla - This APP IS probably my most favorite app I have on my phone. If you have a library card and your library participates with Hoopla, you’ll have access to thousands of books, audiobooks, music albums, and movies! While I was recovering from my surgeries last Autumn, I found a “library” (pun intended) of old Disney movies that I loved watching as a kid. You can borrow up to 8 titles a month! This APP is incredible.

Focus Keeper - Need a way to stay focused, or a way to remind yourself to take breaks? Then this is a great app! I love using this while I’m working on stuff for work as well as my blog.

Target - I probably have an addiction to Target and with no spending come into effect, I know I’ll be using this less. But, I use this app to create shopping lists, find deals in my cartwheel, as well as order for pickup (which is the greatest invention known to man).

Spotify - I use Spotify like it’s going out of style. I’ve even moved some of my podcasts to spotify to save some room from my podcast app… Seriously, everything is right there at my fingertips. I have so many playlists and genres I listen to and I’ll say it… I like it better than Apple Music!

VSCO - I use this app honestly for one filter which I find hilarious… But, this app is amazing to help change the filter of your photos. It helps bring cohesiveness to my instagram feed. I want to be more comfortable this year with this app and I want to change the mood/feeling of my instagram and will be using this app to help (as I’m helpless at Photoshop at the moment.) - My beautiful friend, Amber, launched her website this month too and you should definitely check it out! It’s beautiful!!

Smart A** - I played this game last Friday and had a blast! Don’t let this name fool you, it’s not an inappropriate game but a game of smarts. Think an easier version of Scategories.

I’m grateful for all the kind words I’ve received about my blog!

Brew Dr. “Mind” Kombucha. I live on Kombucha and this brand and this flavor is my favorite!

One Little Thing:

I shared this on instagram the other day…

“I could have made an excuse… but excuses only lead to regrets… and I have enough of those.”
